What is church membership?
Membership at Ogletown Baptist Church means that one is covenanting before God and with the other members both to be spiritually responsible for each other and also to be one for whom the shepherds/pastors are spiritually responsible to God and to the congregation (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Timothy 5:19).
Who can become a member?
To qualify for membership, a person must be a believer in Jesus Christ who gives evidence of regeneration, who has been baptized following his or her profession of faith, and who wholeheartedly believes in the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible. More specifically, the responsibilities of members are summarized within the Ogletown Baptist Church’s Membership Covenant. Individuals will be received into membership by congregational approval.
What do I do now?
Here at at Ogletown, we are committed to coming alongside anyone who wants to move forward in his or her relationship with God—and finding a church you can call ‘home’ is a significant part of that journey. Membership Matters is a great place to continue to seek whether God may be leading you to this church family. You will have an opportunity to meet the staff and hear about our beliefs and values. Although there is no obligation to join, we ask that all those wishing to join our church attend a Membership Matters class.
