 GLOBAL OUTREACH

Love the Lord, Love Our Neighbors, and Make Disciples of All Nations

EVERYONE IS CALLED

We glorify God by loving him, our neighbors, and making disciples of all nations. Involvement in this global mission is not optional: every Christ-follower has a role to play. We surrender our time, talents, resources, and lives for the sake of the lost, the poor, and the vulnerable who need Christ above all. We work to establish new local churches where none currently exist and to strengthen existing local churches. We will prioritize global endeavors that help create gospel access where there is none. We primarily do this through our International Student Ministry, short-term mission trips, mid-term and long-term sending, and our local and global partnerships.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MINISTRY

American college campuses are home to a large number of international students, more than any other nation. These students are the future leaders who will play a significant role in shaping our global culture. Our church is located near the University of Delaware, where almost 10% of the student population is made up of international students. Some of these students come from countries where Christianity is illegal. Shockingly, over 80% of international students will not have the opportunity to visit an American home during their stay. Many of these students are seeking American relationships, and it's important to recognize that these nations are coming to us!

To address this opportunity, the International Student Ministry has implemented creative ways to engage with these students, such as friendship partnerships, church family "adoptions," conversation partners, conversational English groups, holiday hosting, cultural events, and other programs. These initiatives aim to build relationships that allow us to demonstrate the love of Christ to our international friends by both our words and actions. SHORT TERM TRIPS

Ogletown sends short-term teams around the world to effectively advance the goals of our long-term partners in places where the gospel is both inaccessible and accessible.  The aim of short-term trips is to help establish churches where none exist and strengthen existing local churches. Our desire is that each member of Ogletown would consider serving on a short-term trip.  Contact our Missions Committee or read more about this year's opportunities

LONG-TERM SENDING

long-term_missionaries.jpg

We believe the local church should be the center of sending, shepherding, and supporting God’s people who serve in cross-cultural contexts.  Therefore, we will prioritize sending people to serve in mid or long-term capacities directly from our church family.

Mid-Term Sending refers to individuals who will spend six months to two years serving in a cross-cultural context.  Long-Term Sending refers to individuals who will serve in a cross-cultural context for 2+ years. For detailed information about our sending process, please click here.

The Blandeburgo Family: Philippines

The Blandeburgos (Joe, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Ellie, and Marie) are currently serving in the Southern Philippines where they send young people from America and the Philippines to share the gospel with the unreached and hard to reach. Their hope is to inspire, equip, and challenge them to use their lives to obey the Lord by playing the part He has for them in fulfilling the Great Commission.

JAMES EDINGER: Nairobi, Kenya

James serves as a Logistics Services Consultant (LSC) and supports the IMB's mission by serving field personnel in Kenya by facilitating services such as housing, transportation, travel, and freight, as well as assistance with governmental requirements related to serving in the country/countries of assignment. James serves alongside a local Global Engagement (GE) team in carrying out the M-task in his community.

NICK FISHER: MOZAMBIQUE

Nick Fisher serves as a missionary in Maputo, Mozambique where he helps to create a culture of evangelism and discipleship in the local church with a focus in engaging university students. To receive updates, email Nick at thenickfisher@protonmail.com.

The S Family: East Asia

The S Family serves students and academics, as well as young couples, in their daily lives in a large city, planting seeds and cultivating/mentoring those who the Father provides. They also work with an unreached people group who live in a remote region that is historically hard to access (both geographically and culturally closed).
